Sweden, 20 th November 2019 – Leading edge children’s content creator Kid e Media (KEM) has launched its first feature film, Heroes of the City - The Movie, exclusively on the YouTube Kids app.
KEM’s Kid e Tales hugely popular YouTube channels are available in over 20 languages, and the new feature-length film is available now with a dozen different options: English, Spanish, German, Polish, Portuguese, Finnish, Danish, Swedish, Russian, Czech, Dutch and Norwegian.
The movie is an exciting adventure about friendship and helping one another, and emphasises the message that everyone is important. The story’s main characters are emergency vehicles Paulie Police Car and Fiona Fire Engine, as well as the charismatic Calamity Crow.
“Today our audience is mainly on YouTube. We chose to debut our feature movie on the platform to make it available simultaneously for all our fans around the globe,” said Pelle Ferner, Managing Director of KEM, former Ruta Ett Entertainment AB.
YouTube Kids is a dedicated destination for kids that makes it easier for children to find videos on topics they want to explore. With 22 million weekly active users, the app is available for free in 64 countries and 32 languages on Google Play and the App store.

The Movie is written by Mike De Seve, founder of Baboon Animation (an Emmy-nominated animationwriter and director who has worked on the likes of Madagascar, Shrek 2, Monsters vs. Aliens and the Heroes of the City TV-series), and Elin Ferner, scriptwriter on KEM’s Heroes of the City and ChiChi LOVE series.
KEM’s aim is to produce high quality stories that children love. Its YouTube content is developed to reach children around the world on a range of platforms, as well as to provide safe and fun entertainment for children 1-6 years old.
